Step out of your element and into the elements of an island often referred to by its guests as: “The most beautiful place they have ever seen.” A location so special that it was hard to release it from secrecy. Hattie Cay is unlike any other, as its whole essence and aura is built around the principle of being one with nature; existing in perfect balance. The energy that flows through the secluded island steals your heart, and in return makes you feel that you are truly in synch with the beat of the earth.
The winding hardwood boardwalk that connects the island from one end to the other, is situated so as to not impose upon its delicate surroundings while paying close attention to the small and intricate details of the natural environment. The outdoor Bose speakers are hidden amongst the foliage so the soothing tunes can follow your every step, softly illuminated by candles after sunset. The boardwalk ebbs and flows through the coconut palms, local foliage, and numerous scattered vibrantly colored orchids.
On one end of the island, at the highest point, you will find the master bedroom suite with it’s octagonal shape and 360 degree views. The master bedroom has a king size bed with split unit air-conditioning, complimented by a hot-water outdoor shower and fully enclosed separate bathroom.
The main outdoor lounging area, dining area, and kitchen are also situated on this end of the island. The kitchen being that it is outdoor yet fully protected from the rain, is “glamping" at it’s finest in the Exumas, with its’ cobalt blue Wedgewood gas range stove, grill and it’s cozy nook with a flat screen TV, incase you feel the urge to reconnect with the outside world.
If you love to cook and enjoy the company of the resident hummingbirds dancing amongst the orchids; this is your dream kitchen. The main outdoor lounging area is elevated to capture the sea breezes from all directions while providing once in lifetime views of sunrises and sunsets. Hattie Cay is powered by the sun and the fresh water is made by reverse osmosis, making it fully sustainable and eco-friendly. With it’s quaint, and charming size, Hattie Cay has the amazing benefit of having no standing water resulting in not having any or nearly as much as a bug issue as her neighboring islands and the island is regularly fogged with an eco and human friendly solution.
When you take the boardwalk to the other end of the island you will pass the main dock entrance with the balinese daybed and gazebo and alas you will reach the second bedroom suite, also an octagonal shape with 360 degree views. The second bungalow is furnished with a king size bed, split unit air-conditioning, bathroom and has a hot water outdoor shower. The second bungalow overlooks the piercing aquamarine water dancing on the sandbars.
Hattie Cay is an excellent place for kiteboarding, with its extended sand peninsula, beach and shallow waters, along with kayaking, snorkeling, and shell hunting. Hattie Cay is situated in an ideal area in the central Exumas, only minutes away from the amazing sites such as, the swimming pigs, the sharks of Compass Cay, Staniel Cay Yacht Club, Thunderball Grotto and more. Hattie Cay offers the necessities of modern conveniences one would wish for, such as full time electricity, AC’s, TV, Internet and water toys. We are more than happy to liaison food provisioning, chef services, guiding, fishing trips and boat rentals for you.
