Summary: The property is large and spacious. The furnishings are not only high quality, but tasteful, and carefully accessorised, The large kitchen/diner has views down to the lake and across to the mountains. One can walk down to the lake, with its many restaurants, shops, boat trips etc. The city walls are most impressive, and the city museum is well worth a visit. Alternatively it is a short distance to peaceful, bucolic walks over the hills and fields, all well signposted and with incomparable views. Day trips to Meersburg. Lindau. Konstanz or even the Rheinfalls are all possible. Boat trips to the Swiss or Austrian side are available from Friedrichshafen. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The thick walls, and blinds on all the windows, kept the house cool even during some very hot weather. The kitchen is equipped for every need, with a generous supply of plates, glasses etc., much more than usual. A bakers' is at the foot of the street; a supermarket a short distance away. (We give a strong recommendation to the Chinese restaurant Tai Hua, over Lippertsreuterstrasse next to Norma. Great food, decor and service.) We had a lovely three weeks stay here in Uberlingen and would happily return.
