Daf & Caroline’s home is located in Antibes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.
The apartment is in the very quiet back streets of the old town, yet only 2 minutes walk from the Provencal market and all the bars and restaurants on Cours Massena, 7 minutes walk to Gravette beach and the harbour, and 10 minutes to Royal beach.
Linen and towels are included in the price, but there is a cleaning fee of €60 per booking.
The space
The apartment is in one of the oldest buildings in Antibes. It was originally a coaching inn and stables, but now comprises of just 4 apartments on 2 floors, of which our apartment is on the second (though please be aware, there is no lift).
It is located in the very quiet, pedestrian lanes of the the Free Commune of Safranier in the heart of the old town, yet just a few steps from Rue Tourraque for taxi/luggage drop-off and less than two minutes walk from Antibes' famous covered market. It's 33sq.m. and has a lounge and separate bedroom, both with large newly fitted double glazed windows, as well as a separate newly fitted kitchen (Jan '19) and newly refurbished bathroom (March ‘19). It's beautifully light and airy, and perfect for two people, though there is also a sofa bed in the lounge if needed for a third.
Guest access
The apartment has good wifi (10meg); a television (36") and a DVD player, both with USB inputs should you want to bring some films with you. (though there is a small but varied selection of English and French DVDs available).
There is a kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, full halogen hob, a combination microwave/conventional oven, fridge, kettle, toaster and a full espresso coffee maker. There is coffee and tea supplied along with sugar, oils, salt and pepper (as well as a few other bits and pieces in the cupboard)
In the shower room towels are provided along with soaps and shampoos, plus a hair dryer.
Interaction with guests
We are always on the end of the phone and are of course happy to help, but as we live in the UK, we also have a wonderful manager who services the apartment and looks after our guests. She lives close by and is on hand 24 hours a day in case of emergency.
Other things to note
Check in is from 16:00 to allow for cleaning and the manager is then available to meet you until about 19:30 (though check in before 16:00 is usually fine if the apartment is empty). If you arrive after 19:30 we can arrange for a key to be left for you and she will then come and meet you the following day to make sure you have everything you need.
I'm afraid checkout must be by 10:00 if there are new guests arriving that day, though we will always try and accommodate a later checkout if at all possible. There is a €60 cleaning charge. While we don't like doing this, it seems to be the fairest way to deal with our cleaning costs - we could increase the nightly rate, but that means that people staying for longer periods would lose out...
We have a no pets and no smoking policy, and please don't smoke out of the window - we have lovely neighbours and they do worry about their extremely old wooden roof!
We would also ask that guests appreciate that there are others living in the block and that they keep noise levels down, particularly after about 22:00
Getting around
A car is not required as there are bars, restaurants, beaches and lovely old streets lined with little shops to wander, all within a few minutes of the flat. Antibes station is about 15-20 minutes walk allowing access to all the towns and cities along the coast, from Cannes, Nice and Monaco, all the way over to Menton, and the market of Ventimiglia just across the border in Italy.
Getting to Antibes from the airport is quick and easy (about 20-30 mins) using the 250 bus from stand no.3 just outside arrivals in terminal 2 (about €16 return). This runs until about 8.30pm; Otherwise an Uber usually costs from €40 - €45, or we can arrange an English speaking private taxi for about €50.
Should you have a car with you, there is secure underground parking at Antibes marina around 7-8 minutes walk away (I believe it’s around €70 for a week)

L'espace
L'appartement est dans l'un des plus anciens immeubles d'Antibes. C'était à l'origine un relais de poste et des écuries, mais il ne comprend maintenant que 4 appartements sur 2 étages, dont notre appartement est au deuxième (mais sachez qu'il n'y a pas d'ascenseur).
Il est situé dans les ruelles piétonnes très calmes de la Commune Libre de Safranier au cœur de la vieille ville, à quelques pas de la rue Tourraque pour le dépôt des taxis / bagages et à moins de deux minutes à pied du célèbre d'Antibes. marché couvert. Il fait 33 m2. et dispose d'un salon et d'une chambre séparée, toutes deux dotées de grandes fenêtres à double vitrage, ainsi que d'une cuisine séparée nouvellement équipée (janvier 19) et d'une salle de bains récemment rénovée (mars 19). Il est magnifiquement lumineux et aéré, et parfait pour deux personnes, bien qu'il y ait aussi un canapé-lit dans le salon si nécessaire pour une troisième.
Accès invité
L'appartement dispose d'un très bon wifi (10meg), d'une télévision (36 ") et d'un lecteur DVD avec entrées USB si vous voulez apporter des films avec vous, (bien qu'il y ait une petite mais variée sélection de DVD anglais et français disponibles) .
Il y a une cuisine avec un lave-vaisselle, un lave-linge, une plaque de cuisson halogène complète, une combinaison micro-ondes / four conventionnel, un réfrigérateur, une bouilloire, un grille-pain et une cafetière expresso complète. Il y a du café et du thé avec du sucre, des huiles, du sel et du poivre (ainsi que quelques autres morceaux dans le placard)
Dans la salle de douche, des serviettes sont fournies avec des savons et des shampooings, ainsi qu'un sèche-cheveux.
Interaction avec les clients
Nous sommes toujours au bout du fil et sommes bien sûr heureux de vous aider, mais comme nous vivons au Royaume-Uni, nous avons également un merveilleux gestionnaire qui s'occupe de l'appartement et s'occupe de nos clients. Elle habite à proximité et est disponible 24 heures sur 24 en cas d'urgence.
Autres choses à noter
L'enregistrement a lieu à partir de 16h00 pour permettre le nettoyage et le responsable est alors disponible pour vous rencontrer jusqu'à environ 19h30 (bien que l'enregistrement avant 16h00 soit généralement bien si l'appartement est vide). Si vous arrivez après 19h30, nous pouvons faire en sorte qu'une clé vous soit laissée et elle viendra ensuite vous rencontrer le lendemain pour s'assurer que vous avez tout ce dont vous avez besoin.
Je crains que le départ ne soit effectué avant 10h00 si de nouveaux clients arrivent ce jour-là, bien que nous essaierons toujours d'accueillir un départ plus tard si possible. Il y a des frais de nettoyage de 60 €; bien que nous n'aimions pas faire cela, mais cela semble être le moyen le plus juste de gérer nos frais de nettoyage - nous pourrions augmenter le tarif de la nuit, mais cela signifie que les personnes séjournant plus longtemps seraient perdantes ...
Nous avons une politique interdisant les animaux de compagnie et non fumeur, et n'essayez pas de fumer par la fenêtre - nous avons de charmants voisins et ils s'inquiètent de leur toit en bois extrêmement vieux!
Nous demandons également que les clients apprécient qu'il y ait d'autres personnes vivant dans le bloc et qu'ils réduisent les niveaux de bruit, en particulier après environ 22h00.
Se déplacer
Une voiture n'est pas nécessaire car il y a des bars, des restaurants, des plages et de jolies vieilles rues bordées de petites boutiques pour se promener, le tout à quelques minutes de l'appartement. La gare d'Antibes est à environ 15-20 minutes à pied permettant d'accéder à toutes les villes le long de la côte, de Cannes, Nice et Monaco, jusqu'à Menton, et le marché de Vintimille juste de l'autre côté de la frontière en Italie.
Se rendre à Antibes depuis l'aéroport est beaucoup moins cher en utilisant le bus 250 depuis le stand n ° 3 juste à l'extérieur des arrivées (environ 16 € aller-retour) .Cela fonctionne jusqu'à 20h30 environ; Sinon, un Uber coûte généralement entre 40 € et 45 €, ou nous pouvons organiser un taxi privé pour environ 50 €.
