Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The staff were really friendly and welcoming. There was a relaxed vibe to the place too. The common areas were really nice to hang out in. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great and I got chatting to some fellow travellers.

Negative: San Jose doesn't feel super safe to me, but the hostel is only a short walk between two of the main bus stations so it is still very convenient. Also, I had a shower, and there was barely any hot water.
