Summary: We spent 3 days in the "cowshed" room at Le Bois Gautier. The accommodation was very spacious with a full kitchen and a large bedroom and bathroom upstairs.
We received a warm welcome from the new owner Bill who had prepared a log fire for our arrival, this made the accommodation very cosy and was a great touch. Bill had also brought some snacks/breakfast for us.
The place was gorgeous, and very quiet, being in the middle of the countryside. It is located about 30 min drive from the scenic town of Fougères, and 10min from St Hilaire du Harcouët with its restaurants, shops and bakeries.
"The cowshed" has a step to get into the accommodation and stairs with steps a bit narrower than standard, si out would not be recommended for people with mobility issue. But there are other accommodations in Le Bois Gautier that may be more suitable.
We will definitely go back!

Summary: We spent a week in France and stayed at six different hotels, but this was by far our favorite. Dom and Jayne were incredible hosts who gave us a personal welcome when we arrived and showed us around the place. They are both fluent in English which was so nice for us after several days of struggling with French. The cottages were well-stocked and beautifully decorated. They brought us fresh breakfast in the morning and gave us advice for activities to do nearby. We wish we would have had more time to spend there. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family and hope to return one day.

Summary: This place was amazing. We were 3 friends traveling together and we could not have asked for better accommodations. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. We arrived late and our host even had a fire started in the wood stove for us. It was very clean, cozy and in a beautiful location. I only wish that we had had a few more says to stay at this exceptional place. You can tell that the owners love their place and take wonderful care of it.

Summary: I read many five stars review for this little simple place and because of it I took a risk to book. The place is truly amazing. Everything works and the hosts are always there if you anything. I hope I can come back soon for a longer stay.

Summary: This was comfortably our favourite stay in a cottage in the last decade of travelling with our children around France and the UK. The welcome couldn't have been better, Jayne was wonderful, brilliant with the children and providing a welcome pack that could have fed us for the whole three days. The cottage (we had The Cowshed) was just right for the four of, two adults and two children 10 and 8. A lovely cozy downstairs with log burner, TV with freeview, a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove top, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge and a table and chairs. Upstairs the huge bed was great for us and we had camp beds for the kids. The shower and bathroom were lovely, with a powerful rose shower and plenty of hot water. The location was great for our needs but Jayne's hospitality was what made it so memorable. She even had Easter Eggs for the children which she gave them on our departure. I can't praise her and the cottage highly enough.
